Stockman Pod Trailers

Banish rust forever. Say goodbye to rusty trailers for good. The award-winning Pod Trailer — the Swiss Army knife of trailers — built around a rust-proof poly tub on an Australian-made galvanised chassis.

Why the Pod

A trailer for a hundred and one uses.

A multi-purpose trailer for camping gear, gardening or a hundred and one other uses. The tub and lid are moulded from the same tough plastic as wheelbarrows and water tanks — so it won’t rust, dent or fade.

Why the Pod lasts

A tub that lasts. A lid that locks. A chassis built here.

With more than 5,000 happy Pod owners, the Pod has proved itself a trusted workhorse. For 20 years regularly seen beating down outback tracks all over Australia.

Tub and lid

Banish rust forever.

The Pod tub and lid are moulded from 6–8mm UV-stable polyethylene — the same material as wheelie bins, ute liners and water tanks.

It lives outside, carries wet or dirty gear, and skips the rust problem that follows ordinary steel tubs around.

  • Over a cubic metre under the lid

Load security

Lock the lid. Skip the tarps.

The lockable lid keeps gear dry and secure — no ropes, no tarpaulins flapping at 100 km/h, no load exposed to the weather.

Gas struts make it easy to lift, and it quick-releases off the trailer when a job needs the whole tub open.

  • Weatherproof lockable Big Lid
  • Gas-strut assisted, quick-release
  • Heavy-duty tie-downs on all four sides
  • 100% Australian made

Good to know

Common Pod Trailer questions.

Which Pod Trailer should I choose?

Pod Trailer (tare 250kg, rated 750kg unbraked / 1,000kg braked) covers town, highway and weekend duties. All Roada (tare 340kg, 1,000kg braked, 15″ all-terrain tyres) adds soft-travel suspension for gravel roads and corrugations. Extreme (tare 440kg, 1,200kg braked, Cruisemaster independent suspension) is the outback tourer, torture-tested on Cape York, the Gibb River Road and the Oodnadatta Track.

What can tow a Pod Trailer?

Almost anything with a towbar. The Pod Trailer weighs 250kg empty and runs up to 750kg unbraked, which sits inside the unbraked towing limit of most passenger cars. The Extreme comes braked for its 1,200kg rating; on the Pod Trailer and All Roada, the 1,000kg braked capacity requires the electric-brake option.

Can I fit a roof-top tent?

Yes. The roof-top tent lid upgrade — heavy-duty gas struts, a structural lid frame, extra side latches and roof-rack tie beams — is load rated to 80kg while travelling and 300kg stationary, and the lid still opens to 25° with the tent fitted. There’s also a chassis-mounted overhead RTT frame if you’d rather keep the tent off the lid. Stockman fits any brand of roof-top tent at the factory, or supplies its own.

Can I add accessories to my Pod later?

Racks, awnings, toolboxes, jerry can holders, water tanks and the roof-top tent setup all bolt on, so most Pods start simple and grow with the trips. Fitment of suspension parts and RTT racks varies with the build year — contact Stockman with your Pod’s year and model and we’ll tell you exactly what fits.

Will it rust or dent?

No. The tub and lid are moulded from the same tough poly as wheelbarrows and water tanks — it won’t rust, dent or fade — and it rides on an Australian-made galvanised chassis.

Is the Pod Trailer Australian-made?

Yes. The Pod Trailer is Australian-made, from the moulded poly tub to the galvanised chassis.

What warranty comes with a Pod Trailer?

Five years structural cover on the Stockman-built chassis, drawbar and body structure, two years on Stockman workmanship and installed parts, and supplier warranties on major components. Full terms are on the warranty page.

Where can I see one in person?

Through Stockman’s dealer network across Australia, at the caravan and camping shows Stockman attends through the year, or at the factory in Carrum Downs, Victoria. Upcoming shows are listed on the shows page.
