Common Trekka questions.

What do I need to tow a Trekka?

Trekka tare weights run from 2,435kg to 2,540kg, with an ATM of 3,100kg on On-Road and Ultra XT or 3,400kg on Platinum XT, and ball weights of 135–152kg. You’ll want a tow vehicle rated to 3,500kg braked — the common dual-cab utes and large 4WD wagons qualify. Check your vehicle’s payload and towball limits against the model you’re considering.

How long can a Trekka stay off-grid?

The Renogy power system is sized by model: 300Ah lithium with 400W roof solar on On-Road, 600Ah with 600W on Ultra XT, and 900Ah with 800W on Platinum XT — all with a 3000W inverter, 80A AC charging, 50A DC-DC and 60A MPPT solar charging. Induction cooking is the big draw, and the battery and solar steps exist to cover it: the further off-grid you plan to sit, the higher the model to pick.

Does the Trekka have a toilet and shower?

Yes — every Trekka has an internal bathroom with a shower and a flushing cassette toilet, with hot water and cabin heating from the Truma diesel system. A composting toilet — no chemicals, no dump points — is available as an option.

Do I need gas bottles?

No. There is no gas on board — cooking is induction, and hot water and cabin heating run on diesel through the Truma system. One fuel, no bottles to fill or swap.

How do bikes and gear travel?

Inside the sealed fibreglass nosecone — dedicated, lockable interior storage that keeps e-bikes, boards and paddle gear out of the weather and out of sight. Optional bike slides make loading easier: a wheels-on slide designed for two e-bikes, or a front-fork slide, each built around the nosecone toolbox layouts.

What’s the difference between On-Road, Ultra XT and Platinum XT?

All three share the composite cabin, internal bathroom, alcove induction kitchen and Truma diesel hot water. On-Road is built for sealed roads and hard-pack gravel on Cruisemaster tandem coil suspension. Ultra XT is the off-road model, with 600Ah/600W power, Webasto off-grid aircon and a factory-fitted stone guard. Platinum XT steps up to 900Ah/800W power, the engineered 3,400kg ATM package and premium finish details.

What warranty comes with the Trekka?

Five years structural cover on the Stockman-built chassis, drawbar and body structure, two years on Stockman workmanship and installed parts, and supplier warranties on major components — Renogy batteries carry five years and Cruisemaster suspension arms are covered for life. Where can I see a Trekka in person?
