Good to know

Common Rover questions.

What do I need to tow a Rover?

Rover tare weights run from 1,160kg on the Escape to 1,350kg on the Ultra, with an ATM of up to 1,950kg and ball weights of 100–140kg. That sits inside the tow ratings of most mid-size SUVs and dual-cab utes. Check your vehicle’s braked towing and towball limits against the model you’re considering — each model’s weights are in the spec table above.

How long can a Rover stay off-grid?

Escape and Intrepid run a Renogy power system with a 120Ah lithium battery and 100W roof solar — enough to keep the fridge and lights going day after day in decent sun. Ultra steps up to a 300Ah lithium battery, an inverter charger, touchscreen control and a 220W portable solar blanket, sized for longer stays and heavier use. The fridge is the steady draw; how long you can sit still comes down to sun and what else you run.

How do I look after the batteries between trips?

Store the Rover fully charged. Parked in the open, leave the power system on and let the roof solar maintain the batteries. Parked in a shed or under a cover, switch the power system off so the electronics don’t slowly drain the pack, and plug into 240V for a top-up every month or so. Lithium batteries hate being stored flat.

Where do two people sleep?

On a queen inner-spring mattress in the cabin, reached through gas-assisted side doors. There’s no canvas, no tent section and no bedding set-up — open the door and get in.

Can I have a hot shower?

Yes. Intrepid comes with a Joolca instant gas hot water system and a Darche shower tent. Ultra runs a diesel hot water heater with a mixer tap and snap-in shower rose, paired with the same Darche shower tent. Escape starts with the essentials, so you add the shower setup that suits you.

What warranty comes with the Rover?

Five years structural cover on the Stockman-built chassis, drawbar and body structure, two years on Stockman workmanship and installed parts, and supplier warranties on major components — Renogy batteries carry five years and Cruisemaster suspension arms are covered for life. Full terms are on the warranty page.

Where can I see a Rover in person?

Through Stockman’s dealer network across Australia, at the caravan and camping shows Stockman attends through the year, or at the factory in Carrum Downs, Victoria. Upcoming shows are listed on the shows page.
